Program Description
Custom designed dialogues for family foundations among family members, boards, staff, community members where the purpose varies depending on the needs and goals of the family foundation.
TLD Family dialogues are for:
- Uniting the constituents of a family foundation or of a group of family foundations around a key cause and topic the foundation(s) are helping address.
- Identifying and discussing the role of family foundations in building communities.
- Engaging the family foundation(s) in dialogues that helps build and strengthen the communities in which they work.
- Providing a platform for productive discussions about effective philanthropy.
- Having discussions about the role of family foundations in the lives of family members, especially children and youth.
- Discovering mechanisms to overcome internal and external challenges through effective dialogues.
- Dissecting specific issues chosen by the family foundations to better understand the problems and potential solutions to the issues at hand.
- Building customized dialogues based on the family foundation’s needs and goals.
Because TLD Family dialogues are customized, the program approach and outcomes are unique to each dialogue.

- For whom – For family foundations, family members, board members, and staff
- Duration – TLD Family events can run from two hours to a full day.
- Location – Held at the Family Foundation’s offices or at an off-site location selected by the Foundation.
- Pre-reads – Pre-reads are designed as part of each dialogue to help prepare participants for the discussion.
